About Read My Mind
Read My Mind is a guessing game for two that asks how well you really know
each other. Each round you both answer a question about yourself, then
guess what your partner answered. Every correct guess scores a point, and
at the end you find out who reads who better.
How to play
- Choose 5, 10 or 15 rounds, then create a room and share the four-letter code.
- Each round shows one question with four answers plus "None of the above".
- First pick your own real answer, then pick your guess for your partner from the same list.
- When you've both finished, the reveal shows both answers, both guesses and who got it right.
- Questions start as a light warm-up, move on to "Getting personal", and finish with a few deeper ones.
Scoring
You score 1 point each time your guess matches your partner's real
answer, so the best possible score is one point per round. Your own answer
never scores for you, it's what your partner is trying to guess. Whoever
has more points at the end knows the other better, and a tie means you
know each other equally well.
Tips
- Answer honestly. Playing it safe just makes you harder to read, and the game less fun.
- Guess what they would really pick, not what you'd like them to pick.
- "None of the above" is a real option. If you know the true answer isn't listed, use it.
- Talk about the misses. They're often the most interesting part.
Why it's great for two
It's a friendly competition with a nice side effect: you learn small
things about each other every round. The early questions keep it playful,
and the later ones give you an easy way into conversations you might not
start on your own.
Quick questions
How long does a game take? A few minutes for 5 rounds, and about
10 to 15 minutes for 15 rounds.
Is there a timer? No. Take as long as you need on each
question.
Are the questions too personal? Most are light. Only the last few
rounds go deeper, and even those are gentle.
