About Hot Take Showdown

Hot Take Showdown is a quick, silly quiz for two about your relationship. You both see the same question with four answers, pick one in secret, then reveal together. Questions range from "who's the messier one?" to "if our relationship was a fast food chain, it would be...", and the goal is simply to match.

How to play

Choose a game length: Casual (10 questions), Standard (20), Marathon (30) or The Full Deck (all of them), then create a room and share the four-letter code.

You both get the same question and four options. Tap your answer. It locks straight away, so go with your gut.

Once you've both answered, the reveal shows your answer next to theirs and whether you matched.

Your match count and current streak update after every reveal.

Both tap ready to move on. After the last question you get your final results.

How it ends

There's no winner and loser here, you're on the same team. At the end you see your compatibility (the share of questions you matched on), your total matches and your longest streak. Match 90% or more and you're "Soulmates", 75% earns "In Sync", 50% is a "Great Vibe", and anything lower is "Chaotic Chaos".

Tips

On "who" questions, "Me" on your screen and "Them" on your partner's point at the same person, so they count as a match.

Answer what's true, not what's flattering. Honest answers match more often.

Don't overthink it. Your first instinct is usually the same as theirs.

Start with Casual for a quick round, and save The Full Deck for a long evening in.

How long does a game take? About 5 minutes for Casual, and closer to half an hour or more for The Full Deck of 78 questions.
Is there a time limit? No. Take as long as you like on each question.
